Center for Companies That Care Recognizes Engaged Employers on National Honor Roll
For Thousands 13 Is A Lucky Number
Center for Companies That Care announces its 11th Honor Roll, and nearly 75,000 employees are lucky to work for the 13 employers on the 2013 list. Each has outstanding workplace practices and active community involvement. The Honor Roll includes privately held and publicly traded organizations as well as not-for-profit employers from around the country and represents several industries.
"These employers are among the best in the nation,” said Marci Koblenz, Center for Companies That Care’s co-founder and president. “They are engaged with their employees and communities. They are strengthening individuals and families within and outside of their workplaces with such practices as open communication, career development, volunteerism, and health assessments. Their leaders are evaluated on how they lead others as well as the business results they achieve. These organizations have consistently proven how values-driven practices can lead to success. They deserve to be emulated.”
Honor Roll organizations are selected for their demonstration of all 10 Characteristics of a socially responsible employer by seasoned business professionals. Two key components of the selection process are a written application and employee survey results.
The 2013 Honor Roll recognizes:
Alliant Credit Union (Chicago)
BCU (Vernon Hills, Ill.)
Bright Horizons (Watertown, Mass.)
CBRE (Los Angeles)
Convergint Technologies (Schaumburg, Ill.)
Enterprise Fleet Management, Inc. (Glen Ellyn, Ill.)

Each March the Honor Roll is announced in conjunction with the launch of CAREDAYS, an annual month-long, national initiative to address a significant societal issue. CAREDAYS13: Terrific Tales supports childhood literacy by ensuring that under-resourced classroom libraries have age-appropriate books for children to read. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to either donate books or raise funds to purchase books for 1000 classrooms. If we all do a little, we can accomplish a lot!
