Each Honor Roll employer demonstrates a number of Best Practices. Read some stellar examples from two of the 2018 Honor Roll celebrants of what makes Honor Roll companies Companies That Care!

While Magid Glove & Safety is new to the Honor Roll, it is not new to demonstrating the 10 Characteristics of Socially Responsible Employers.  This privately-owned company with 570 employees believes in frequent, multi-channel communication with employees. Its communication philosophy is rooted in respect and having open communication so the work environment can be as free from issues as possible.  Departments hold monthly “In the Know” meetings to share company information and employees have the opportunity to meet in small groups with the company’s top executives.  
 
During the company’s period of significant growth, it has taken the opportunity to make significant progress in diversifying its team.  Accomplishments of note are more than doubling representation of women and people of color in Sales, and almost doubling it in each of these levels: Technicians, Mid Managers, Professionals, and Executives.  
 
Education is emphasized with on-the-job training, tuition reimbursementand internal training programs.  Magid also hires external talent to bring additional points of view and experience to their team, which is another way to cultivate the full potential of employees
 
The company makes impact in its community by mentoring high school students and hiring interns.  The internships help the students gain valuable experience and to formulate their career goals.  On a broader scale, Magid has been involved with disaster relief around the country and world by donating thousands of dollars per year of personal protective equipment for those involved in cleanup operations.
